LOCATION:  Oxford Palace Hotel  745 S Oxford Ave  Los Angeles, CA 90005     
A courtesy room block  is being held for the nights of October 18 and 19  (single rooms @$160 plus taxes; doubles @$175 plus taxes. That's a  20% discounted rate. The rooms will be held  with no charge until 24 hours prior to the meeting.  Ask for the Friends of Korea room block when making reservations. Additional nights and rooms can be added if available. (They are currently available.)

TIMES:

• Membership meeting 1:00 - 1:25 pm (Pacific Time) - open to all

We will hold the business meeting of Friends of Korea before the general meeting. The agenda will include an update on the recent activities and on FoK's financial health, as well as other developments.

• Annual meeting 1:30 to 5:00pm (Pacific Time) - open to all

The program will include:

• ​Three wonderful talks by:
  • The Power and Influence of the Korean American Community - Connie Chung Joe, Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California
  • Science Fiction in South Korea: Its Past, Present and Future - Sunyoung Park, USC
  • Gender Issues in South Korea: Past and Present - Jennifer Jung Kim, UCLA
• ​Presentation of 2024 Kevin O'Donnell Award 
• Presentation of the 2024 Giving Back Initiativ​e
• Closing remarks by Consul General Kim Youngwan

The day will conclude with a dinner at 6 pm hosted by Consul General Kim at his residence.  Details will be sent to all who register to attend the meeting in person.

​We have two participation options - in person or virtual.  All participants must register in advance.  All registrants will receive an email confirming their registration.
