2020 Annual Membership Meeting & General Meeting

Date: Saturday, November 7, 2020    

Time (all times are Eastern Standard time)
  
    Membership meeting:    4:00 to 4:30 pm (open to members & anyone interested in attending)
    Annual meeting:
            4:30 to 5:30 pm (open to all)
        

Preliminary Schedule
The afternoon will start with the business meeting of Friends of Korea from 4:00 to 4:30 pm and is open to all. The agenda will include an update on the recent election of new directors to the board; an update on FoK's financial health, as well as other developments.  

Once the membership meeting is concluded, we will transition to the general meeting (4:30 to 5:30 pm).  The program will include:
  • The keynote address, "Perspectives on the Korean & American Alliance," will be delivered by Vincent K. Brooks, General (US Army retired).  Click here to read a biography of General Brooks.
  • ​The presentation of 2020 Kevin O'Donnell Award - this year's honoree is Kenneth Klein, who recently retired from his position as head of East Asian Library at University of Southern California.  He is being recognized for his many contributions to the Korean Heritage Library.   KHL is among the best Korean Studies libraries in North America. In addition to its strong collections of books, serials, videos, and electronic resources, the KHL is known for its unique primary resources including: the Korean-American Digital Archive, the Sea of Korea Maps Collection, the Peace Corps Korea Digital Archive, the Korean Missionary Archives, etc
  • Closing remarks by Ambassador Kathy Stephens on "Three Thoughts Post-Election."
