Statement by Gerard Krzic, PhD
President, Friends of Korea
On behalf of the Board and members of Friends of Korea, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed in the shootings that took place March 16th in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
Friends of Korea is dedicated to fostering cultural awareness and friendship between Americans and Koreans. Founded by Returned Peace Corps Korea volunteers, FoK has now embraced a larger membership of individuals who have come to love Korea, its culture and people. Our mission of building trust and understanding is more important than ever in light of the rising tide of anti-Asian hate crimes across this country. Friends of Korea unequivocally condemns anti-Asian hate crimes which have increased recently, and reaffirms its support for all the efforts to uphold values of diversity, mutual respect, and co-existence.
Friends of Korea has made a donation to the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum in support of their work in Atlanta and 13 other cities across the United States creating social, political, and economic change for AAPI women and girls.
