Honorary Membership - a way to thank those who support FOK
The conferring of honorary membership is one way in which Friends of Korea can recognize and express gratitude to those individuals who have supported the mission and activities of Friends of Korea. Honorary members have demonstrated a commitment to fostering cultural awareness and friendship between Americans and Koreans through their actions and personal contributions.
Current FOK members may nominate individuals for honorary membership. FOK Board Members will review and vote on the nominations as submitted. Nominees should meet one or more of the following:
- The nominee has contributed significantly to activity/activities related to the Friends of Korea mission to foster cultural awareness and friendship between Americans and Koreans in public service, business, religion, education, government, or the arts.
- There should be a particular reason for recognition of the nominee by FOK Board members that embody the unique or highly characteristic bond between Americans and Koreans.
- The honorary membership should have a special meaning to the individual being recognized.
- Self-nominations are not accepted.
